PURPOSE AND SCOPE
BTR-4 is designed to transport personnel of motorized infantry units and their fire support in combat. BTR is used to equip units capable of fighting in various conditions, including in conditions of the enemy using weapons of mass destruction. The APC can be the basic vehicle for equipping the special rapid reaction forces and marines. An APC can perform assigned tasks both in the daytime and at night, in different climatic conditions, on roads with various coatings and in conditions of total impassability. Operating temperature range from -40 to + 55 ° C.

his arrangement allows you to quickly transform the combat and landing compartment without changing the layout solutions for the power plant and transmission to create a wide family of machines.
The carrying capacity of an armored personnel carrier allows creating not only variants of performances and a family of vehicles, but also to install additional armored protection against automatic small-caliber guns.

The maintenance and repair workshop is designed to provide the most labor-intensive work and to provide qualified crews of armored personnel carriers with maintenance and field (1 and 2 level) repair of the APC and can perform its functions independently of the time of year.
The workshop is adapted for operation on roads with various coatings and off-road conditions.
Workshop equipment provides the deployment of jobs: electric welder, electrician, battery and locksmith.
Workshop equipment allows you to perform the following jobs:
- external washing and tinting of armored personnel carriers;
- operational adjustment of units, assemblies, mechanisms and their control drives;
- charging of discharged air cylinders;
- charging of batteries, as well as starting the engine BTR with insufficient charge of its batteries;
- performance of works on argon-arc and electric-arc welding by direct and alternating current of all kinds of metals;
- checking the correctness of electrical equipment BTR;
- simple mechanic-mechanical work;
- elimination of minor malfunctions and replacement of units and units of the power plant, as well as units and assemblies of the undercarriage.
During the maintenance and field repair of the BTR, the workshop can be used alone or in combination with other maintenance and repair facilities.

The armored repair and evacuation vehicle BREM-4RM is made on the basis of the BTR-4E armored personnel carrier units and is designed to solve the following tasks:
- the conduct of technical reconnaissance on the battlefield;
- preparation for evacuation and towing of defective, damaged, controlled and unguided wheeled vehicles weighing up to 26 tons to the assembled points of damaged vehicles;
- preparation for pulling out and direct pulling of stuck (sunken) or damaged samples of weapons and military equipment with a mass of up to 26 tons;
- providing assistance to the crews in carrying out routine and medium repairs, both in the field and at assembly points of damaged vehicles;
- performing lifting and transport operations with the help of crane equipment in the installation and dismantling of units and assemblies of armored personnel carriers, both in the field and at assembly points of damaged vehicles;
- performance of welding and cutting of ferrous metals with the help of welding equipment;
- transportation of cargo, spare parts and tools on the cargo platform.
